Welcome to Willow Friends!

.
In Willow Friends, we seek to move beyond simply accepting the presence of friends with intellectual disabilities. We want every person to truly belong.  And true belonging means more than being included in the room—it means being connected to a Christ-centered community, growing spiritually, building meaningful relationships, and using your God-given gifts to serve others.
.
We believe God created every person on purpose, for a purpose. Every individual has value, dignity, and something meaningful to contribute to the body of Christ. In WF, our desire is that every friend is known, loved, encouraged, and empowered to live out the purpose God has placed within them.
.
We offer a church service for kids, teens, and adults of all abilities can worship together, learn about Jesus through engaging and experiential teaching, and deepen their friendships with one another and with God.

Our Willow Friends Space

In Willow Friends, we have created an intentional environment for our friends with intellectual disabilities—a welcoming space in our church designed specifically for their unique needs, making it more conducive to learning about God and making friends.

Teens & Adults Midweek Bible Study: Ages 14+

During Fall, Winter, and Spring, Teens and adults with intellectual disabilities take their faith one step further on Wednesday nights where they build community, worship together, and learn how to use their God-given abilities to serve in our church. Small groups, socials, and service projects are just a few of the opportunities offered.
.
In-Person
This group is geared towards those who do well with 1:5 volunteer to participant ratio. Support persons are welcome to come with those who do well with a higher ratio.  Support persons are required to complete Protection Screening.
.
Virtual
Live far away? Need to miss a week in person? We offer a live virtual option each week. This group has its own virtual small group leader.

Volunteer

The volunteers in Willow Friends are the heart of the entire ministry! You bring a willing heart, we provide the training and together, we can serve all the kids, teens, and adults with disabilities in our church as well as their families.

Disability & Inclusion Groups

Willow Friends Group Experiences are offered three times a year in 10-week sessions designed to help teens and adults of all abilities build meaningful community and connection. Through shared interests, engaging activities, and faith-centered conversations, participants have the opportunity to make new friends, strengthen relationships, and grow in their understanding of God’s love.

Annual Productions

Each summer, Willow Friends actors and peer mentors spend months preparing for an annual musical production. This production puts God-given abilities on display, as kids and teens take the stage to perform for thousands.

Whether you’re involved on stage, behind the scenes, or simply enjoying the production, you’re sure to be inspired and moved!
