Weekends at Willow

Welcome to Willow! We’re so excited to gather on Sundays—in person and online—for services, kids, and student programs. As always, you can check out a service on WillowCreek.TV, or plan a Sunday visit at one of our Chicagoland locations.

Current Series:
Love Like Jesus

The world often asks us to choose sides: it’s either left or right, pro or anti, for you or against you. But just as we are faced with these decisions to determine our position, Jesus was challenged with the same: What commandment is the greatest? Who is my neighbor? Who is the greatest in the Kingdom? The law says to stone the woman; what do you say?

When you study His answers, you realize He chose a third option: love.

This Sunday, we begin a two-part series, Love Like Jesus, where we’ll learn from Micah 6:8 to adopt a posture like Christ when we’re often asked to take a position. Together, let’s act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly so that the world will see there’s more to life than choosing sides.

SEEK JUSTICE

Justice is at the heart of God; it’s central to loving like Jesus. Learn from Micah 6:8 and the story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10) to discover what it means to seek justice in a world plagued with injustice.

October 9
LOVE MERCY

It can be easy to see the way others are “sinning” or falling short, but when faced with the opportunity to shame a woman caught in adultery, Jesus instead challenged the onlookers by saying, “He who is without sin can cast the first stone.” Showing mercy is central to the Gospel—discover ways you can better love like Jesus by choosing a posture of mercy.

October 16
WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD

We will never be able to fully love like Jesus if we don’t choose to walk humbly with God. Jesus Himself, who was fully God, humbled himself to become man and face death on a cross. What would it look like if you set aside your position or pride and chose humility instead?

October 23
JESUS: LIAR, LUNATIC, OR LORD?

Have you ever heard someone say “Jesus is a good moral teacher, but He wasn’t God”? If that were the case, Jesus claiming to be God would make Him more of a liar or lunatic than Lord. What is your disposition toward those who have different views of Jesus? Learn how to believe Jesus is the Way while still loving like Him.

Well, you’re not alone, but there’s some good news: It’s not all for you! Learn how we can set aside our preferences to build a church that is going to reach the next generation.
