Weekends at Willow

Welcome to Willow! We’re so excited to gather on Sundays—in person and online—for services, kids, and student programs. As always, you can check out a service on Willow Online, or plan a Sunday visit at one of our Chicagoland locations.

I Need Better Friends

Current SeriesI Need Better Friends

In 2023, the Surgeon General issued a warning about a loneliness epidemic. While the church emphasizes the importance of community, many of us are unsure how to cultivate that sense of community. This series will dive into the art of making (and keeping) friends through a heart of humility, which begins with becoming a better friend first.

IT STARTS WITH YOU: BE THE FRIEND YOU WISH YOU HAD
September 7

Loneliness harms us, but God’s remedy is friendship rooted in love. Like David and Jonathan, we’re called to lead with compassion—because showing up for others can change a life, even bring joy to our own!

WORTH THE WORK: HOW TO BUILD FRIENDSHIPS THAT LAST
September 14

Lasting friendships require humility, intentionality, and selfless love, rooted in loyalty and putting others first. True relationships thrive through courage, grace, honesty, and forgiveness, reflecting God’s love in action.

BOUNDARIES THAT HONOR: LETTING GO WITH LOVE
September 21

Honoring friendship sometimes means letting go with love and courage, as Jonathan did for David in 1 Samuel 20. Choosing peace and grace in goodbyes creates a lasting legacy of true, godly friendship marked by loyalty and sacrifice.
