Summer Serving

We can love God, love people, and change the world through small acts of service and generosity in our communities. Meet needs, have fun, and demonstrate the love of Jesus through these summer serving initiatives:

Backpack Drive • Serve Your Neighbor • Serve Your Community

Backpack Drive

Each Willow campus partners with local schools to support the students and staff. School administrators have identified a need for more than 4,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to send kids back this fall ready. Gather your family, small group, friends, and neighbors and shop so the student’s bags will be stocked! The collection will go from July 3-24.

Serve Your Community

We partner with 80 schools and non-profits across Chicagoland to bring help and hope to those in need. Wherever you live, and whatever your passion, you can make a difference! Choose a one time serve opportunity or sign up for an ongoing volunteer role with one of our local partners.

Serve Your Neighbor

Each day you drive and walk past the same houses, but do you know your neighbors? Take time this summer to show up and bless those around you.

Follow the B.L.E.S.S. rhythm.

  • Begin with prayer
  • Listen
  • Eat together
  • Serve your neighbor
  • Share your story

Here are a few other ideas!

  • Introduce yourself to your neighbors if you don’t already know them and learn their name.
  • Bring them a treat. Just double-check food allergies 😉
  • Perform a random act of kindness like mowing their lawn or washing their car.
