We look at Paul’s continued exhortation in 2 Corinthians 8 as he writes to members of the 1st-century church encouraging them to meet the needs of the Church around the world by giving generously. But there is a message about reciprocity found within the verse–“your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need…” We may all have resources to give to meet physical needs, but we ought to learn from and be discipled by the global church and what our partners can teach us about God’s goodness, compassion, and grace.
