APARTMENT DONATIONS & HOMELESS MINISTRY MOVING TEAM

Our Homeless Ministry Moving Team has been busy moving guests into their new residences! If you would like to help on this team, email Julie. We are also looking for people who have a truck, van, or trailer who can help move furniture. Please email Julie if that is you! To donate furniture, home supplies, etc., please email Julie.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

In this ever-changing landscape created by the novel coronavirus, we are wanting to walk alongside one another as well as our community, in the best and most Christ-honoring ways possible. The needs that we are seeing are continuing to change and develop and the ways we serve will also continue to change and develop!

To help us best equip one another to meet these needs, please take a few minutes to complete this survey

Thanks for your heart to be a reflection of the Acts 2 church! (Acts 2:44-47)

PRAY AT HOME

God has given us a powerful tool, prayer, to fight fear and confusion. Additionally, he has given us a spirit of power, peace, wisdom, and courage. We ask that you pray for the following:

ENCOURAGER TEAM

Join our Encourager Team! Bless seniors, shut-ins, and others within our community who are isolated for whatever reason. Write out cards with words of encouragement. Have your kids create drawings. We’ll collect them and get them into the hands of those needing a little sunshine and hope. Contact Diana at [email protected] for more information and to get connected.

CRYSTAL LAKE FOOD PANTRY

Willow Crystal Lake continues to partner directly with the Crystal Lake Food Pantry (CLFP)! The CLFP needs our help to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community, including homebound seniors. Opportunities to pack groceries and provide curb-side service can be found here.

Helping to keep the pantry stocked is another way to serve! Items should be taken to the pantry directly at 42 East Street, Suite C, in Crystal Lake.

Pantry Most-Needed Items:

Peanut butter, tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned beans, chili, dried pasta, spaghetti sauce. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 am – noon. Drop-offs should be made on the north side of the building. Please be mindful of the current detours on Crystal Lake Avenue.

SENIOR CARE VOLUNTEER NETWORK

The senior care network serves those 60+. Join their team delivering food to homebound individuals. Click here to find out how you can help seniors in our community.

BLOOD DONATION

The need for blood is in high demand. If you are healthy and able to give blood, we encourage you to contact one of the two blood centers below to give.

  • Versiti Blood Center of Illinois (815) 356-0608, 6296 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake, IL 60014

  • Lifesource (877) 543-3768, 5150 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake, IL 60014

KEEP CHECKING BACK REGULARLY

As we continue to assess the needs of our congregation and community, opportunities to serve will continue to evolve. Please be sure to fill out the form at the beginning of the page (or reattach here) so that we can keep you up to date on needs and opportunities moving forward!
