How can you help?
In this ever-changing landscape created by the novel coronavirus, we are wanting to walk alongside one another as well as our community, in the best and most Christ-honoring ways possible. The needs that we are seeing are continuing to change and develop and the ways we serve will also continue to change and develop!
To help us best equip one another to meet these needs, please take a few minutes to complete this survey.
Thanks for your heart to be a reflection of the Acts 2 church! (Acts 2:44-47)
SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
Sponsored by the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the Summer Lunch Program provides free boxed lunches to any child in Crystal Lake 18 years of age and younger. The program is led by volunteers and supported by the Crystal Lake Park District and Vineyard Church. The Summer Lunch Program will be offered Monday through Friday starting Monday, June 1, 2020 and ending Friday, August 14, 2020. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ladd Park, 521 Coventry Lane, in Crystal Lake. In case of rain, lunches will be served at Vineyard Church, 7105 Virginia Road in Crystal Lake (next to the CVS). No registration is required. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, food will be distributed as a drive-up service. In addition, volunteers will follow health department and CDC social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings.
Last summer, the free lunch program in Crystal Lake served approximately 1,665 meals and fed approximately 33 children per day. The program aims to fill a void in the summer months when school is not in session and lunch is not provided to qualifying children through the National School Lunch Program.
Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Summer Meal Program is offered in partnership with the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program and is administered by the Illinois State Board of Education.
For more information about the program, go to here.

PRAY AT HOME
God has given us a powerful tool, prayer, to fight fear and confusion. Additionally, he has given us a spirit of power, peace, wisdom, and courage. We ask that you pray for the following:
Pray against fear (Romans 15:13).
Pray for the sick and vulnerable (Jeremiah 17:14).
Pray for those searching for answers or seeking God (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Pray for public health officials, governments, and healthcare workers (1 Timothy 2:1–2).
Join our Encourager Team! Bless seniors, shut-ins, and others within our community who are isolated for whatever reason. Write out cards with words of encouragement. Have your kids create drawings. We’ll collect them and get them into the hands of those needing a little sunshine and hope. Contact Diana at [email protected] for more information and to get connected.
