Getting Here

Getting anywhere in the city can be complicated, and we strive to make things as easy as possible each Sunday for everyone in the congregation. Check out the different ways to get to Willow Chicago!

There are five upcoming Sundays where we will be affected by Chicago Bears games happening at Soldier Field. On these Sundays, there will be no street parking in the radius of Roosevelt to Cermak and Lake Shore Drive to Clark. Parking is available at our two first-come-first-served onsite lots, which hold 40 cars total. Additionally, vouchered overflow parking, though not guaranteed during the NFL season, is available at the parking garage at 1 E 8th Street. We strongly encourage either biking, walking, or taking public transportation.

These are the Sundays affected:

  • October 28

  • November 11

  • November 18

  • December 9

  • December 16

If you normally drive to church, there are several options available to you. We have two onsite parking lots, a smaller 10-spot lot on the south end of the property (including three handicapped parking spots), and a 30-spot lot at the north end. Once these two lots are full, overflow parking — via a free voucher — is available at 1 E 8thStreet. Outside of the NFL schedule, street parking is usually available, but can be a challenge based on permitting or events at Soldier Field.

1 E 8thStreet Parking Garage (not guaranteed on Chicago Bears Sundays)

The parking garage at 1 E 8thStreet is located on the south side of 8thStreet, just East of State Street. From the South, head North on State Street and take a right onto 8thStreet, while those coming from the North will take a left onto 8thStreet. The parking lot will be on your right.

The pedestrian entrance to the parking garage is located on State Street, just south of the 8th/State intersection. Patrons who park at 1 E 8thStreet can receive a free, 3-hour voucher to cover their time in the parking garage at the parking sign in the main entrance after service.

There are two bike racks onsite at Willow Chicago. In the southeast corner of the North parking lot, there is a nine-spot bike rack near the alley entrance. In the South lot, there is an 18-spot bike rack at the East end of the lot.

Public Transportation

Willow Chicago is located one block south of the Roosevelt “L” stop, which welcomes the Red, Green, and Orange train lines. Since we are located on State Street, there are also several bus lines, including the 29 and 62, that stop right outside our doors.

If you have questions about transportation, contact Operations Director, Nate Carey, at [email protected].
