1. Participation

Q: Who can participate in the 6K?
A: The Willow Creek 6K is open to all runners, walkers, and those with strollers, wheelchairs, or other special needs.

Q: Can my child participate?

A: Students ages 5–18 may register for the race and receive their own shirt. Children ages 4 and under are welcome to join their parents for the 6K fun. Childcare is not provided.

2. Registration

Q: How do I register?

A: Click here to register and ADULT. Click here to register a MINOR. There will be no same-day registration - all runners and walkers must register by Saturday, April 28 at 11:59 p.m. 

Q: What is the cost of registration?

A: Registration cost is $10 per person ages 5+.
Q: Where can I pick up my t-shirt?
A: T-shirts will be distributed on Sunday, April 29 between 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Q: Can I transfer my registration to someone else if I can’t make it to the race?
A: Unfortunately, since signing a personal waiver is part of your registration process, you are not able to transfer your registration.
Q: Can I get a refund for my registration?
A: Unfortunately, no refunds are available.
3. Volunteering
Q: Can I volunteer to help with the race?
A: Yes! Contact Anne Watson if you are interested in volunteering.
4. Donations

Q: How are the race proceeds being used?
A: The proceeds from this year’s Willow Wheaton 6K will support World Vision, who is working to provide clean water for families in the developing world.

Q: Can I make a donation to the race even if I’m not running or walking?
A: Yes! Here are three ways you can donate to the COH Giving Initiatives:
• Mail your donation via check, made out to Willow Creek Wheaton. Simply write “Willow Wheaton 6K” or “COH
6K” in the memo line of your check. Willow’s mailing address: 315 W. Front St., Wheaton IL 60187.
• Place your donation in the offering at any Willow Wheaton church service. Write “Willow Wheaton 6K” or “COH 6K” in the memo line of your check. Weekend services are held on Sundays at 9 & 11:15 a.m. Weekend services on April 15, 22 and 29 are specifically focused on Celebration of Hope 2018.

5. Race Day Details
Q: Where do I park?
A: Please park in the Wheaton Academy parking lot. Entrance to the parking lot will be by the Hawthorne Ln entrance only.
Q: Can my child ride his/her bike or scooter during the race?
A: For safety reasons, no bikes, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, longboards, hover boards, etc. are permitted in the race.
Q: Can I bring my dog if he is on a leash?
A: For safety reasons, no dogs are allowed on the racecourse, with the exception of service dogs.
Q: Is there a race hashtag?
A: Yes, glad you asked! Please use #WillowWheaton6K for posting on social media. Please encourage friends and family to take pictures and post them on social media using #WillowWheaton6K.
6. Inclement Weather Plan
Q: What if the weather is bad on race day?
A: Participants’ safety is most important. The race will be delayed or cancelled if any of the following weather conditions exist or persist: tornado watch or warning, thunder/electrical storm, heavy rain, or other major weather condition. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided since funds were already spent in preparation for race day.
