The Care Center partners with Journeys to provide emergency shelter through the PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) program. From Thursday evening until Friday morning, individuals and families are provided a safe place to sleep and shower, as well as food and other supplies. A network of churches throughout the Northwest Suburbs provide shelter the other days of the week from October 1 through April 30, including holidays.
If you would like to be a part of the PADS Shelter Program, please contact Journeys or visit the Hope Center at 1130 E Northwest Highway in Palatine, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Guests must be pre-qualified through Journeys before staying at the Care Center.
Journeys also offers additional support to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless, including the Hope Day Center, where visitors are offered case management, job counseling, mental health counseling, and housing counseling, as well as healthcare and legal referrals. The Pathways Housing Readiness program guides individuals and families toward permanent housing solutions. To learn more about all of Journeys’ services, click HERE.
