Willow Weekly 11/21 | Happy Thanksgiving + Christmas Eve Service Times

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! This is a week to pause, celebrate, and express gratitude for all God has done. "I am so thankful for this church and for how God has moved in and through it this last year," says Executive Pastor Heather Larson. "Let's all set aside some time to reflect on the many blessings we have been given."

Give thanks through praise and prayer at an all-worship Midweek service this Wednesday, November 22, featuring a performance by our adult Special Friends. Continue the week of gratitude at weekend services, November 25/26, with a Thanksgiving message from Senior Pastor Bill Hybels.

Mark Your Calendar: Christmas at Willow

The Christmas season at Willow Creek kicks off December 2 & 3 with Prison Pack Weekend, featuring lawyer, social justice advocate, and Global Leadership Summit speaker Bryan Stevenson. The services will conclude with the assembling of 70,000 Christmas gifts that will be sent to every inmate in the state of Illinois and to those at Angola prison.

Willow Creek hosts nine Christmas Eve services from December 21–24. You can reserve seats in advance beginning this weekend, November 25/26. This year's service times are:

Thursday, December 21, at 7 p.m.
Friday, December 22, at 4 & 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 23, at 1, 4 & 7 p.m.
Sunday, December 24, at 10 a.m., 1 & 4 p.m.

A Forward Vision

Last weekend, Executive Pastor Heather Larson gave a vision for the next year at Willow Creek. "I’ve been asking God to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine," she said. "I’ve been asking Him to unleash His power in us and through us. I’ve been begging Him to do a work that only He can do across all generations of this church. And our strongest passion is about the beauty, power, and potential of the local church!"

As a church, we’re excited to launch our Forward initiative—three vital values we believe God is igniting in our midst as we move forward into 2018. We will fight for every Willow family; call out the best in every Christ follower; and risk boldly to reach. "Let’s partner with God as He does 'immeasurably more' in our midst, accomplishing a fresh work that only He can do, and transforming our community one friend at a time," continues Heather.

Watch Heather's vision talk and learn more about Forward here. Save the date for December 9/10, when you'll learn the many ways you can play a part in moving Willow Creek forward.
