Awestruck & Grateful

Recapturing Wonder

This weekend, we begin a new teaching series, Awestruck, with a message from pastor Eugene Cho that will help us prepare our hearts for Christmas. "Even as we hurry toward Christmas, we long to be stopped in our tracks, to be shaken out of our ordinary, and to be caught up by wonder and the realization that something bigger is at work," says Creative Director Nick Benoit. "Moments like these are sprinkled throughout the Christmas story and on its periphery."

Awestruck explores the stories of Mary, Zechariah, Elizabeth, and Simeon from Luke chapters 1 and 2 to see the ways the Holy Spirit met them in the midst of their ordinary lives.

"Do we expect God’s extraordinary spirit to interrupt our ordinary lives? I'm praying we start to!" continues Nick. "Imagine what expectations, worship, and words might bubble up in us as we encounter the Holy Spirit this Christmas season."

A Time to Give Thanks

Whether you find yourself overflowing with gratitude or running on empty this week, you're invited to gather with your church family for a night of worship and thanksgiving at Midweek. Sing songs, new and old, that speak of God's unfailing love and faithfulness—and reflect on the gifts He has blessed you with. 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 21 in the Lakeside Auditorium.
