Global Serving Teams LaunchEach year, more than 300 people from Willow South Barrington travel across the world to serve and support our global partners, and this weekend is the launch of 2019 Global Serving Teams!
Willow works with partners, in 14 countries, who are meeting the needs of their communities through the local church—and global serving teams play a key role in providing ongoing partnership and support. "Many organizations send money to alleviate poverty across the globe," says Global Teams Manager Lara Olson. "The model at Willow is about cultivating relationships that are mutually transformative. These are our friends we are working with and learning from year after year."
Teams witness God’s work in other countries, have their faith expanded, and get their hands dirty by supporting long-term projects (like painting, construction, or cleaning) driven by our partners to support the ongoing work of health initiatives, education, church programs, and children’s ministry. “Global teams help my teammates and me experience firsthand the local church being the hope of the world," says Katie Franzen, a team leader for the Jordan trip. "When you see God at work in another church in a different culture, it expands your vision of what the church is.”
In 2019, Willow South Barrington is sending 18 teams comprised of families, Impact students, teachers, and adults. Consider where God may be leading you to serve! Click here to learn more and apply for a team.
