A Special Baptism
This weekend, June 9/10, hundreds at Willow Creek will make their faith public through Baptism. "I can't imagine a better way to wrap up Grace + than by celebrating God's grace demonstrated in the lives of our brothers and sisters," says Teaching Pastor Steve Carter. "Each person has a story, a moment, or an encounter with the love of Christ that brought them to this place—and now we get to cheer them on!"
This weekend features a highlight Baptism for the Special Friends community as one of their core adults, Asa, celebrates God's work in his life. Asa, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, has found a place to belong in Special Friends. He regularly participates in the Penguin Project productions and attends worship each week. “Being part of the Special Friends Bible classes helped me see who I am in Jesus, and I can’t wait to be baptized,” says Asa. “It’s been a dream of mine, but I never thought it would be possible to be fully submerged because of my disability. But now, it’s going to happen!” This weekend, he will be lifted out of his power wheelchair to be baptized in the tank. His family has seen God's grace in and through Asa and cannot wait to celebrate with him.
Celebrate Asa and the hundreds of others who are declaring God's grace in their lives. If you've decided to follow Christ but have not been baptized, consider joining them this weekend! Learn more and register here.
