Celebrating Black History Month

Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and we want to celebrate the lives and legacies of African-Americans in our church and world. Mosaic, Willow's ministry focused on embracing diversity and promoting racial reconciliation, offers great opportunities for you to learn about the many cultures that make up our world.

“This month, we have multiple opportunities to learn about the contributions that African Americans have made throughout our society,” says Mosaic Director and Pastor Jared Wilkins. "Racial reconciliation is the bridge that connects us to fully experience God’s creative genius by bringing us into proximity with those who are different from us.”
“Allow your learning to continue beyond these events,” continues Jared. “Mosaic offers fantastic books, resources, and other content to help you grow. Simply email [email protected] and we will send our recommendations your way."

Upcoming events to celebrate and learn:

February 2 & 3 | Jo Saxton at Weekend Services
Jo Saxton is a Nigerian Londoner and the director of 3DM, a movement that helps church leaders make discipleship and mission the heartbeat of the local church. She is passionate about equipping people to share the love of Jesus to transform our world. Jo will bring a message this weekend called "More Than Enough" as we continue Journey Through John.

February 9/10 | African American Heritage Celebration
Head to the Main Lobby after the 5:30 p.m. & 11:15 a.m. weekend services to learn about African American history, enjoy live music, and celebrate the vibrant culture that exists today.

February 23/24 | Albert Tate at Weekend Services
Albert Tate has blessed our church with his gift of teaching over the last several months. He has spent his life sharing the gospel locally and globally. He planted Fellowship Monrovia in California to be a gospel-centered, multiethnic, and intergenerational church, challenging people to embrace cultural and generational differences as a picture of heaven. Albert will bring a message about unity in the church as we continue Journey Through John.
