Develop a Framework for Finances
This weekend, Teaching Pastor Steve Carter continues Reset with a message and interviews John Cortines and Gregory Baumer, authors of God and Money. John and Gregory met as Harvard MBA candidates in a men's Bible study. As they explored the world of finance, they found their faith and their paths toward wealth and success at a crossroads—they stopped asking "How much should I give?" and started asking "How much do I need to keep?" Scripture brought them to the startling conclusion that they should give the majority of their money away.
"John and Gregory offer seven core principles, taken from Scripture, to help navigate money in a simple way," says Steve. "I think we will all learn something new this weekend!"
Next weekend, February 17/18, Senior Pastor Bill Hybels brings a Reset message, and Executive Pastor Heather Larson interviews Rachel Cruze, author of the New York Times best-selling book Smart Money Smart Kids. Rachel co-wrote the book with her father, Dave Ramsey. Rachel is a gifted communicator who is passionate about instilling biblically based financial values in kids and young adults.
In conjunction with the weekend teachings, Willow Creek's Stewardship ministry offers classes and workshops that help you develop a framework for finances to pay off debt and plan for the future. Since 2015, these classes have helped more than 5,000 people pay off more than $1 million in debt, bringing peace and relieving stress.
