The Mobile Care Center is bringing hope and joy

The Care Center goes mobile!

The Willow Creek Care Center seeks to share the hope and love of Christ while meeting basic needs and offering long-term solutions that empower people toward a more stable future. Since 2013, the Care Center has served more than 15,000 families a year, totaling 250,000 visits in its South Barrington location. But there are still many more needs to serve. Read this inspiring update from the Care Center staff:

The Care Center has been thriving for years, but we wanted to reach even more people who couldn’t come to us. Through partnerships with elementary school principals and social workers, we learned that some families didn't have reliable transportation to get much-needed food and clothing. We also learned that common toiletry items were hard to acquire due to cost. For the past several months, we have been visiting four of our Kids Hope schools in Palatine, Hoffman Estates, and Carpentersville, traveling to each school once a month.

We set up in the evening, bringing the Love Everyone, Always truck filled with fresh produce, dry goods, and toiletries. In the last two weeks, we added backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts to kick off the school year! When families arrive, they fill out an order form, and our volunteers collect the items from the truck. We set up a tent with tables, chairs, and board games for families to play together while they wait. We have found great joy in watching families get so absorbed in their game of Uno that they stay long after their orders are filled.

We love the relaxed atmosphere and casual conversations—and the way we are growing relationships—each time we return to a school. This is our church being used by God to bless our community and show His love!
