Ministry Highlight: 2019 Sandblast Summer Camp ReacpMore than 1,100 high-school students and their leaders attended Sandblast, Student Impact’s summer camp, last weekend—and 47 of them were brand-new to Willow. Through your generosity, every student who applied for a scholarship received the funding they needed to attend camp.
Highlights included evening sessions taught by Pat Brennan, Impact director at Willow Wheaton; whiteboard sessions, where student-voted topics were taught in rapid fire by a variety of Impact staff; and Comp (competitions) where students from different house groups compete in a variety of hilarious games and activities.
“But the most memorable moments at camp almost always happen in conversations,” says Lauren Zaworski, group-life director. “Whether in small groups, leader-to-student, or student-to-student, it’s in the safe, set-apart environment of camp that students have the chance to go deeper in their friendships and to ask meaningful questions about faith and life. Thanks for your prayers. It was an incredible weekend.”
