Gratitude after the storm

Dear Enews Friends,

When I first stepped into this role, one of the first pastors to offer support was Jeff Manion. Jeff is a pastor from Michigan and a dear friend of Willow. Each time he comes, he brings wisdom and insight, pointing people to Christ during the ups and downs of life.

This weekend, Jeff will bring a message called “After the Storm” about expressing gratitude after moving past a major challenge. He will encourage us to not only see gratitude as a feeling but as an action and a way of living. The worship team is also sharing a new song, which you can listen to here.

Once again, I found myself deeply thankful for each person in our church. So many have rolled up their sleeves as we rebuild. We just concluded our Elder nomination period and received 99 nominations—God has been good. Please be praying for the Spirit to guide the Elder Selection Committee and candidates as they explore who will serve as Elders in the season to come.

With you,

Steve Gillen

P.S. One of the many things I love about our church is the diverse community of cultures that makes up our congregation—we have more than 100 countries represented. This month is Hispanic Heritage Month, and this weekend we get to celebrate the rich culture of our Hispanic brothers and sisters at a reception after the 5:30 p.m. and 11:15 a.m. services in the Main Lobby. Enjoy food, music, learning, and fun.
