Thankful

Dear Enews Friends,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Each year, no matter the victories or losses we faced, our family takes time to reflect on the ways we've seen God's faithfulness. It can be easy to see the challenges of day-to-day life, but when you pause and think back, God's presence becomes so evident. If you haven't taken time to reflect, I encourage you to do so, then share those moments with the people in your life.

Over the past few weeks, I've spent time rereading my journal from this year. In April I wrote, "This is going to be a hard year." And it has been, but it's also been filled with incredible moments of God meeting us as individuals and as a church family. God has spoken in the stillness, brought new people through our doors, led people into new relationships with Him, and given us a chance to orient our lives and focus on Him. Through it all, God is good.

This weekend, we begin a new series called Awestruck with a message from Eugene Cho. He'll open up Luke 1:46–55 and explore the story of the Holy Spirit meeting with Mary to prepare her for the coming of her son Jesus. May we recapture the awe and wonder of the season we are entering.

With gratitude,

Steve Gillen

P.S. Of the many things I'm grateful for, my kids are near the top, but parenting is challenging, especially when crisis hits. Next Wednesday, November 28, we are offering a one-night workshop called Parenting Kids and Teens through Crisis. Learn from a panel of staff on how to love your kids well in the midst of crisis situations you've encountered at home, school, or in society. Learn more and register here.
