Dear Enews Friends,
This weekend, we will wrap up Celebration of Hope 2017, and I could not be more proud of our church! Last weekend, you rose to the challenge and exceeded our seed-packing goal by filling 1,039,000 seed packs. Way to go to all of you who served! We had more than 19,000 volunteers show up to make that happen. Wow!
We also have thousands who are ready to participate in the 5K Run for Refugees tomorrow. Spots are still available for walk-up registration today and tomorrow if you can jump in and join us. Learn more here. I can't imagine a better cause to get you out of bed and on the move tomorrow, so don't let yourself make any excuses. Come and run with us!
This weekend is your last chance to walk through the lobby and see all the ways we can help our partners in the fight against poverty and injustice. Our music team has put together a great worship set for us. Gary Haugen, founder of International Justice Mission, will give us a challenge from God's word, and then we will receive our COH offering. It will be a celebratory finish as we each give a special gift to support the work God is doing around the world. Please be praying now for what God is asking you to give.
On top of all that, Steve and I will lead the services because Bill is in the middle of a trip to Asia. He is coaching and training church leaders, but he will stream the service in between his sessions. Please pray for Bill as God works through him and the Willow Creek Association to make a huge Kingdom impact.
What a weekend! I love our church!
P.S. Make your plans for Mother's Day—it's next weekend! We will have a phenomenalservice with award-winning artist Meredith Andrews and a very moving message from Shauna Niequist. Also, if you haven't found a gift for your mom yet, we'll make it easy for you—check out the Fair Trade Market at COH this weekend. We look forward to celebrating moms and all the women of Willow next weekend!
