Over the past few months, we’ve been gathering Willow’s South Barrington leadership teams to brainstorm the question, “What should our staff structure look like?” Our goal was to invite more people to the leadership table, empower staff to use their gifts to carry out their jobs, and dream about the future.
I’m excited to say we’ve landed a new basic direction that we’re confident will increase collaboration as a staff and help people engage in our various ministries and events more easily.
In a nutshell, at South Barrington, we’ll gather different ministries to work more closely together in four new circles under key, trusted leaders:
- Adults: Paul Johnson, Chrissie Steyn, and Stephanie Haugen
- Kids and Students: Mike Shintani
- Compassion & Justice and Special Friends: Josie Michalak
- Central Services: Matt Sundstedt
And while there aren’t any major ministry or departmental shifts, we know it will take some adjustments and fine-tuning over the coming months to maximize this new approach. We’re committed to getting better at partnering together in a way that helps those at Willow grow spiritually, be cared for, and build better relationships.
We’re trying out this new approach. I ask that you pray for these leaders and our staff—that God will give us fresh vision and unified direction as we serve our church and community. I’ll keep you updated on how things are going!
