Summer is halfway over, and we’re trying to get the most out of every day that’s left.
Stop by Willow North Shore on Wednesday evening for tons of free food, games, and more! We’re serving dinner off the grill and have games and inflatables for the whole family – from a bounce house to an obstacle course with a little competition. Head east to Wilmette for free outdoor entertainment! Held at the Wallace Bowl and Mallinckrodt Park Gazebo, Sounds of Summer still has more than 10 free concerts this summer. Drive up to Glencoe to spend a day at the Chicago Botanic Garden for Family Drop-In Activities! Learn how plants grow, pollinate flowers, build a life-size bird nest, or explore underwater life. Activities vary from week to week, but with over 300 acres of landscaped gardens and millions of plants, there is a ton to explore! (Free Admission, $25 Parking)
Celebrate local art and great food in Evanston as the summer winds down. The Art & Big Fork Festival spans three days and features original, high-end artwork alongside unique pieces, like handmade jewelry and furniture. Stop by to see live music on Friday evening and grab a bite to eat! (Free Admission)
