Local Director - Core Compassion & Justice

The Local Compassion & Justice Director creates a collaborative, learning environment to identify and leverage internal and external best practices to help shape the future of Willow Creek’s C&J core values and local engagement strategy.  In addition he/she facilitates unity across multiple campuses and key stakeholders through humility, spiritual leadership, influence, and change management practices.  The Local Compassion & Justice Director develops a roadmap that achieves programmatic alignment across campuses with appropriate local contextualization so that the ministry and those involved continue to grow.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define our Local Engagement Strategy with collaboration with, and buy in from, key stakeholders
  • Create organizational clarity around local engagement strategy and roles/responsibilities 
  • Develop systems and metrics to measure effectiveness / success
  • Facilitate a comprehensive communications strategy 
  • Develop a local engagement roadmap at network & campus level  
  • Develop donor development strategy in support of local budget
     

SUCCESS IS DEFINED AS....

  • Ownership of local engagement strategy and key strategic initiatives by Campus Pastors and C&J Directors in alignment with Core C&J values (Church is the hope of the world, asset based ministry, reciprocity, relational evangelism, etc.)
  • Mobilization of the Church (# of people engaged, campaign outcomes, etc.)
  • Life Change (people saying yes to Jesus, people changing how they invest their time, talent and treasure, next steps, etc.)
  • Community Transformation (education rates increasing, poverty levels decreasing, leadership development, etc.)

  • Proven community development experience, ability to create a portfolio of non-profit partnerships to help achieve a shared vision
  • Diversity training and experience

  • Change management skills balanced with strong spiritual leadership with the ability to broker win/win solutions and remove barriers to growth
  • Ability to articulate a passionate calling to Compassion & Justice and Willow Creek in this next season
