Promiseland, Willow Creek’s ministry for infants through grade 5, is held during all weekend services and extends into each child's week through a partnership with parents, the spiritual leaders of each child's home. Promiseland partners with parents to help kids develop a faith in Jesus Christ that lasts a lifetime.

Promiseland's commitment to families

In Promiseland, we commit ourselves to families in two ways: First, we commit to guiding and equipping parents with tools and resources to help them be the primary spiritual influencers in their homes. Second, we commit to teaching God’s truths to kids each weekend, through relevant Bible teaching, music, group discussion, and age-appropriate activities.

A safe environment

Promiseland is a safe and secure environment for each child. All volunteers and leaders are carefully screened and supervised, and a stringent security process for all kids provides parents the assurance that their child is being well-cared for during the weekend service. In addition, our facilities and emergency procedures have been approved by the Barrington Fire Department.

For kids needing assistance because of a developmental or physical challenge, we work with parents to understand each child's needs and provide a one-to-one volunteer for their child. Our goal is to help every child fully participate in Promiseland.

Partnering with parents

Promiseland offers helpful resources to assist parents in providing the spiritual guidance their kids need:

Take6 Scripture passages: Each week, Promiseland provides the passage of Scripture kids will learn about in Promiseland the following weekend (see this weekend's verses up to the right). Parents are encouraged to take six minutes during the week to read this passage aloud with their child.

Family Verse Station: Memorizing Scripture is a powerful way to lock the truths of God's Word in our hearts for a lifetime. Promiseland encourages parents and children to memorize Scripture verses together. Look for the Family Verse Cards in or outside your child's classroom, and stop by the Family Verse Station to recite your verse together.

Welcoming new families

If you are new to Promiseland, we invite you to arrive 30 minutes before the start time of the service you'll be attending, then head for the First-Time Families booth in the Main Lobby. We'll help you get your child checked in and walk with you to their room.

As kids learn biblical truths and experience God’s love both at home and at church, the message of His love for them is reinforced, giving each child an opportunity to move into the future with a solid faith foundation.
