Wendy Olver Ministry Connector
Willow Creek teaching pastor, Randy Frazee, in his book "The Connecting Church" writes, "People need to be involved in meaningful and constant community or they will contniue on indefinitely in a state of intense loneliness." It is true that we all have a God-designed need to be part of something larger than ourselves. At Willow Creek North Shore, the person responsible for connecting people into community is Wendy Olver.
She grew up in Lewiston, New York (Niagra Falls area)and moved to Chicago in 1978. She has a love for horses, books and most importantly, people. Wendy's passion for connecting people to one another and the bigger picture has been fueled by her work with the hospice ministry. She has 14 years experience as a Hospice and Patient Care/Bereavement Volunteer. She says, "My heart's desire is to reflect the love of Christ to everyone God sends my way as well as to teach and encourage them that Christ's love is real, even in the deepest sorrows and the highest joys. I believe passionately that being connected to one another in community facilitates that love in real and practical ways."
