McHenry’s New Campus Pastor
Marcus Bieschke has taken the reins of campus pastor at Willow Creek McHenry in Crystal Lake, Illinois. After a season of ministry in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the request came for Bieschke to consider the role of campus pastor at one of Willow Creek’s four regional sites.
“I know that as a church, Willow Creek McHenry County will continue to become an unstoppable force for redemptive good in the world around us; that we’ll be a movement, not a monument, a revolution, not an institution and a change catalyst, not a change cadaver,” said Bieschke. “But to bring that incarnational change into high definition demands a deeper, supernatural process that I am going to invite our congregation into. With God’s help, we will flesh out our faith in Christ in a way that forever transforms our world.”
Root Determines Fruit
Bieshke will follow the principle of “the root determines the fruit” as he takes leadership at Willow. “During the first 90 days, I’ll develop a root system of relationships and follow a three-step visioneering approach from Nehemiah 1 to discover God’s vision for us.
- Listen to and learn from key leaders at Willow Creek
- Boldly beg God, through prayer and fasting, to reveal the most intense burdens in our church, in our surrounding community, and in the world. As a church, we will share the intense God-given burden with urgency.
- Ignite the passion for God’s vision and achieve it together.
Bieschke holds a B.A. from Loyola University Chicago, a Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from Regent University's School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
