Influence

This fall, Willow Creek embarks on a significant weekend series around the topic of Influence. What is it? How do you get it—or lose it? And what is its highest use?

Influence begins September 6-7 and continues through October. And there is a genuine sense that the series will be a defining moment in the life of Willow.

A Defining Moment

“This series will be substantial,” said Senior Pastor Bill Hybels. “It will be challenging. It will be stretching spiritually and intellectually. I think God is going to move in a very remarkable way.”

The first week sets the stage as Hybels talks about the power of influence, and casts a vision for how we can all use it to make a difference for eternity.

“We’ll be building a case for the fact that one of the highest and best uses for our influence is to help people be reconciled to God,” he said. “Not only for their eternity’s sake, but so they will join the team of those who are trying to restore this broken world.”

A Challenge
In future weeks, special guests including worship leader Darlene Zschech and Olympic marathon runner Ryan Hall, will take part in services.

Hybels is challenging everyone who calls Willow Creek “home” to be part of each week of Influence. “I think,” he said, “it might be one of the most important series in the history of our church.”
