Celebration Of Hope Meals Reach Zimbabwe
When Willow Creek packed 3.6 million meals as part of Celebration of Hope, the designated recipients were schools in Zimbabwe. In conjunction with Feed My Starving Children, a Christian organization that provides and distributes meals via qualitifed partners, Willow committed to provide regular meals to 10,000 children in Zimbabwe for one year.
The political climate and harsh environmental conditions in Zimbabwe have increased the challenges in the safe delivery of the food.
Word came this week that of the 13 containers of meals shipped to Africa, one is now in Zimbabwe in the hands of distribution partners (Joint Aid Management/World Vision). These meals will be distributed in the Lupane District in southern Zimbabwe near Bulawayo City.
Of the remaining containers, five are currently in port in Zimbabwe and the seven have arrived in South Africa and are awaiting processing.
“The news is positive and we anticipate safe delivery of the remaining containers,” said Warren Beach, a leader in Willow’s Compassion and Justice Ministires. “But don’t stop praying,” he said.
