Are You an Entrepreneur?

Each year, approximately 600,000 new businesses are established in the United States. And another 550,000 or so close their doors.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, two-thirds of new companies survive at least two years, and 44% stay in business for at least four years. Key factors include having sufficient capital, being large enough to have employees, the owner’s education level, and the reason the business was created.

Ten Keys to Starting a Great Business

If you’ve dreamed of starting your own business but aren’t sure where to begin, register for “10 Keys to Starting a Great Business,” hosted by the Careers Ministry at Willow Creek.

The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 16, at Willow’s South Barrington campus. Questions to be addressed include:

• Can I make a good living running my own business?
• How do I turn an interest or hobby into a great business?
• How much will it cost to start and run my own business?

Willow’s Job Connection

In addition to seminars such as this one, the Careers Ministry offers an online Job Connection that allows employers to list open positions, and job seekers to post their resume or search for employment. The LifeWork Transitions workshop, links to local organizations, and tips on resumes, interviewing and networking are also available.
“Our goal is to help people gain a perspective of work as God designed it to be, said Ray Ercoli, director of Workshops and Support Communities, “and to help job seekers find meaningful, God-honoring jobs.”
