Nations at Willow
Willow Creek has become a gathering spot for explorers and believers from all corners of the globe. Many find their way here looking for spiritual truth and a community where they can fit in. Others bring their culture and questions in search of a place to call home. Any way you look at it, Willow Creek has become a church home to people from nations and cultures from all over the world.
International Ministry
Willow’s ministry to the international community exists to help people from diverse cultural and language backgrounds find a place to belong. “God loves it when people from different countries, races, religions and backgrounds come together to learn about who He is and what His plan is for us,” said Sue Hood who leads Willow’s international communities. “We have a wide range of cultures represented here: Chinese, Filipino, German, Greek, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, and Hispanic.”
Celebrate Diversity
To recognize and celebrate diversity, Willow is exploring a new event—one that introduces people to favorite traditional foods from the varied international cultures represented here at Willow. As part of this, Willow asks those who identify with another country or who have been strongly influenced by a particular ethnic culture, to take part in a survey to help identify next steps in preparing for this event.
It’s not just for people from other countries. Americans who grew up influenced by another culture, yet whose family has lived here for generations, are encouraged to be a part of this. Diversity is about everyone.
Take the survey.
