What is most important in your life?
That would be Jesus, authenticity, community, creativity, family and fun. My wife, Bonnie, and I have seven children and have also been blessed with grandchildren. My favorite scriptures are “Delight yourself in the Lord" and "Children are a gift from the Lord."

What job did you dream of having when you were out of school?
I wanted to be a professional baseball player, host of The Tonight Show, or to work for ESPN. While in college, I majored in journalism. During my sophomore year, I became a Christian and suddenly felt my decision-making being affected by God. In Washington, D.C., at Capital Bible Seminary, I worked with an organization called Youth for Christ/Campus Life.

Why are you at WCMC?
Bonnie and I have traveled to 42 states and have lived on both coasts. (I prefer the West Coast.) We wanted to live in community with people who are living for the advancement of God's kingdom. In 1995, God made it crystal clear that I was to come to Crystal Lake and be a part of Willow Creek.
