Partnering with God

God gives us the incredible privilege of partnering with Him in kingdom work. At Willow Creek Huntley, we recognize God as Creator, Provider, Sustainer, and Hope. We gratefully receive and we joyfully give. As a community, there is a satisfaction that comes from following Jesus' example of generosity. We are privileged to be able to share our resources so that others may be served and so that He may be known.

The Bible tells us that everything we have is a gift from God (1 Chronicles 29:14). The Bible also teaches that tithing - giving God the first 10% of our income - is designed to teach us to always put God first in our lives (Deuteronomy 14:23). Tithing is a reminder that God is the giver of all good things; it is also an invitation to an outpouring of God's blessing in our lives. Malachi 3:10 tells us that when we bring our tithes to Him, He will "open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it" (NLT). God dares us to see if we can possibly out give Him. 2 Corinthians 9:7 encourages us: "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver."

Why does God want you to excel in the grace of giving? Because he influences the world through his people. God gives to you so that He can give through you. As you faithfully give, the world is changed for the glory of God; the gospel is preached; lives are impacted; people are fed; bodies are healed; churches are built and grown. And then you, in turn, are blessed by God so that you can give again.

Where do my contributions to Willow Creek Huntley go?

Your weekly contributions to Willow Creek Huntley support the General Operating Fund. This fund allows the day-to-day ministries and services of our church to flourish. All that happens on Sundays, and all that happens throughout the week, happens because of your tithes and offerings.
