R

eflecting God's love, welcoming, and serving all of Willow's guests

Every week, thousands of guests and visitors come through Willow's doors to worship, learn, and experience God. Guest Experience plays a significant role in casting peoples' first impressions of Willow, and in creating lasting memories for them. With many different teams to choose from, Guest Experience provides a variety of volunteer opportunities and time availabilities to welcome, serve, and lead.

Guest Connection Teams

When a guest walks through Willow's doors for the first time and receives a warm, friendly welcome, it makes a lasting, positive impression. Guest Connection teams perform this vital role, and often their warm greeting is the reason a first-time guest comes back to Willow! Volunteers for Guest Connection serve twice per month on weekend teams, Midweek Experience (Wednesday night) teams, and at special events and services. Serve on one of these teams—and be the friendly face a guest remembers.

Attendance Counters

If serving behind-the-scenes is more appealing to you and you're looking for a relatively brief serving role, consider joining the attendance team. You'll move within the Main Auditorium and Atrium during weekend services, counting those in attendance to help our church track growth and plan for the future.

Communion Servers/Communion Prep Team

The Communion servers team distributes the Communion elements to our guests during weekend services, allowing the hearts and minds of our congregation to remain focused on this significant celebration. They can volunteer during the service they already plan to attend. The preparation team assembles and distributes the elements to the Communion servers before Communion services, while building relationships with one another and making new friends. Willow Creek celebrates Communion every five or six weeks, so serving on these teams is a vital but less time-consuming volunteer opportunity.

Medic Team

With thousands of people gathering on the South Barrington campus each week, occasional medical emergencies arise. And when they do, Willow’s medic team is the first to respond. Medical professionals volunteer their time to be available during weekend and midweek services, the Global Leadership Summit each August, and other special events on Willow’s campus. They can volunteer during the service or event they already plan to attend. If you are a licensed physician, nurse, paramedic, EMT, or PA, and you have emergency medical experience, consider offering your professional skills to meet the medical emergencies that may arise on campus.
