Children are taught creative, age-appropriate curriculum. This means that Bible lessons are both developmentally and spiritually appropriate for your child, as well as fun. Children learn that Jesus loves them and wants to be their best friend, as well as how to live a life devoted to Jesus.
Specifically, volunteers working with infants through age five begin building a child's spiritual foundation. Starting with the infant/toddler rooms, Christ's love for children is demonstrated by providing a safe and clean environment in which the children can sing and play. Two- and three-year-olds begin learning Bible stories, as well as the concepts of friendship and helping by observing the actions of their small-group leader. Four- and five-year-olds expand their Bible knowledge during large-group programs that include relevant Bible teaching, creative drama and high-energy Promiseland music.
Children continue to apply the Bible directly to their lives, from kindergarten through fifth grade. They often participate in role-plays and "What would you do?" discussions in small groups. Each child is presented with an opportunity to begin a relationship with Jesus and encouraged to become followers of Christ through more in depth Bible lessons, relationships with others, age-specific worship music and time to develop a heart for worship, drama and opportunities to participate in other church ministries. You are invited to visit your child's room any weekend to see the careful, creative attention Promiseland pays to the age of children. Simply check in at any Promiseland Welcome Center for an entrance tag on the day of your visit.
