Information for Parents

The key to any relationship is communication. We encourage you to get to know your child or student’s small group leader or ministry connection. Find out who your son or daughter is spending time with at church. While we do everything possible to ensure safety within the ministries, you are the best advocate for your child or student.

If you believe your child is experiencing any form of mistreatment(injury, bullying, gossip), please contact the ministry or your child’s group leader directly. We ask this as we may not yet be aware of the situation with your child. Similarly, if you have concerns about your child’s group leader or another ministry person, please trust your instincts and contact a staff member as soon as possible.

You may feel confidentthat the staff and leaders in each ministry hold the safety of your child in the highest regard. We have taken great care to develop guidelines, policies and procedures to increase safety while your child is involved in ministry.

These guidelines are by no means exhaustive. Please feel free to contact the ministry or your child’s small group leader anytime with questions or concerns. Or contact the Protection Ministry directly at protection@willowcreek.org. Or for more information please drop in on one of the training classes.
