Volunteer Opportunities

Serve at Willow Chicago

Each week it take hundreds of volunteers to make church happen. There are plenty of opportunities to put your gifts and passions to action. Whether it's teaching children, helping out in the office or greeting someone on a Sunday morning...there is a place for you!   • Arts & Media

    Music Team

    Vocalists, instrumentalists, and song writers - use your musical talents to lead the congregation in worship. Audition Required.

    Dance Team

    Dancers, choreographers and instructors - add new creative elements to the worship experience. Audition Required.

    Media Team

    Use your skills in video, editing, web design, film and new media to communicate weekly messages.

    Production Team

    Assist with lighting, sound, set, video and graphics for the service each week.

    Capture the special moments at Willow Chicago and assist with photography projects.

  • Community Care

    Prayer Team

    Intercession and thanksgiving for the joys and needs of our community.
    When: Weekly: Sundays, 9:30-9:45 a.m., Auditorium Theatre, 2nd Floor;
    Monthly: First Thursday of every month, 8:15-9:00 p.m., Willow Chicago Ministry Center

    5 Loaves Family

    Be a part of this intentional, Christ-centered community of the resourced and under-resourced by participating in small group discussions, exchanging life-stories, and sharing a meal together. We meet weekly at the Willow Chicago Ministry Center (418 S Wabash Avenue) and then transition to the Auditorium Theatre for the service.

    2 Fish Street Team

    Serve coffee and bagels to the residents at the Men's Hotel each Sunday. This is home to 300+ men who might be able to afford a room for $10 a night but may still be missing a consistent or relational support system.

    Serving Times: Sundays (After the weekend service) 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

    Care Team

    Meet and walk with guest through spiritual questions, prayer needs, financial crisis, health issues, relational conflict, grief/loss, or other needs.

  • Family Ministries

    Promiseland (Children's Ministry)

    Volunteer in different areas of our Promiseland Children's Ministry. Background check required.
    When: Sunday mornings or Monday – Thursday, as you are able

    Elevate/ Impact (Student Ministry)

    Mentor 6th-12th grade small groups.
    When: Sundays, 12-1:30 p.m.

  • Operations & Administration

    Office Administration

    Assist with administrative projects at the Willow Chicago Ministry Center.
    When: Monday – Thursday, as you are able

    Ministry Center Receptionist

    Assist with general reception responsibilities at the Willow Chicago Ministry Center (greeting, answering visitor questions, maintain cafe area supplies, light organizing/cleaning of general areas).
    When: any or all of the following times: Sunday 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday various times, Friday 5:30-7:30 p.m.

    Special Events

    Help plan and execute special events for the church.

    Sign Language Interpreter

    Interpret Sunday services for hearing-impaired guests.
    When: Sunday mornings; 1-4 times per month as you are able

    FAST Team

    Make church happen by assisting with set up/tear down.

    Guest Ministries Team

    Be a greeter, service host or validate parking.
    When: Sunday mornings

    Communion Prep Team

    Prepare communion for the church congregation on a monthly basis
    When: one Sunday per month, 8-8:45 a.m.

    Information/ Connections Team

    Welcome guests, answer questions and help guests get connected to ministries within the church.

    Seeds

    Provide resources (books, sermon CDs, DVDs)
    When: Sunday mornings

    Count Team

    Assist with offering. Background check required.

    Volunteer Food Ministry

    Set up food and monitor inventory food for service volunteers.
    When: Sundays, 8 a.m.-9:15 a.m.

    Coffee and Community Ministry

    Set up snacks for pre and post service coffee and community time.
    When: Sundays, 9:15-9:30 a.m. & last 10 minutes of service
