Isaiah 58 Challenge
Our city is on course for the most violent year in decades. It is completely out of control, and we cannot sit by and watch our city destroy itself. We cannot act carelessly or without the direct intervention and direction from God, for any effort apart from Him is in vain.
So we begin a journey. From now until August 22, we will read and meditate on Isaiah 58, asking God to give us unity and direction about how to engage in our violent city, and preparing ourselves to follow wherever He leads.
Join us. Commit to reading Isaiah 58 each day and asking God to guide us, and heal our city. At a minimum this will take about five minutes each day, which doesn't seem like that much of an investment, but if you take this seriously and open yourself to God's voice and prompting, this experience will transform your life.
Let Pastor Jon know "You're In!"
At the end of our challenge, he will reach out to each of you who commits and participates and ask you to share what you have been hearing from God as you immerse yourself in Isaiah 58. So be listening and writing down all that you hear from Him!
Since we began this thirty-day initiative on July 22, the response has been overwhelming! We are proud to be a church that is seeking God's will for our engagement in our city.
May His Kingdom come and His will be done, in Chicago, as it is in Heaven.
