Unleashed: The Power of Multiplied Impact

  • A vision for Willow
  • A vision for you

God has a destiny for you beyond what your faith can imagine.

Following months of strategic planning and fervent prayer, the leadership of Willow Creek unleashes Vision 2010--a vision for the future of our church.
"The two-word term that keeps reverberating in this vision," says Senior Pastor Bill Hybels, "is multiplied impact."

What would Multiplied Impact look like?

Big Idea #1: Raise the level of risk associated with reaching people far from God across Chicagoland.

The greatest gift you can give another human being is an introduction to the God who loves him or her and to His Son, Jesus Christ. At Willow, we will raise the level of risk associated with reaching people far from God all across the Chicagoland area. Reach across racial, ethnic, and socio-economic lines and be
bolder witnesses for Christ.

Big Idea #2:  Rethink the coaching we give Christ followers as they pursue a fully surrendered life.

We will spend more time teaching people how to take responsibility for their own spiritual feeding so that they become spiritually mature.  We cannot live under the illusion that what you receive in a weekend church service is enough to make you spiritually mature. At the end of the day, each of us is responsible for our own spiritual development.

Big Idea #3:  Unleash unprecedented levels of compassion into our broken world.

From the food pantry that feeds thousands locally to our Global Connections ministry that has distributed millions to AIDS in Africa, Willow is making a difference. But we're in the warm-up stages of what we could do in the arenas of compassion and justice.  Grounded in Isaiah 58:6-10, God is stirring our hearts to unprecedented amounts of compassion and blessing and a watching world will watch and be inspired.

The destiny of Willow Creek is one of Multiplied Impact.

God’s greatest miracles are in our future, not our past. There is a destiny in front of us and if we saw it, our faith could not accommodate it.

It is the power of God that will accomplish it. We believe that God’s power will sweep over our church and over the world--all for His glory.

By this is my father glorified that you bear much fruit.  John 15:8
