Prayer Room 252

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Mark 1:35-36 (NIV)

This example from Scripture gives us an insight into the spiritual practices of Jesus. In spite of the demands of His ministry, He was careful to remove himself regularly for prayer, solitude and intimate relationship with the Father.

Sometimes it's hard to emulate that example with the pace of our lives. Even in our comings and goings here at church, we may have trouble finding a solitary place to pray.

Room 252 is set aside for spiritual practices: prayer, journaling, Scripture study, meditation and self-examination. It's convenient, just off the atrium, close to Dr. B's. It's quiet and comfortable, a place to find spiritual space in your day.

Room 252 is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Wednesdays, the room will stay open until 10 p.m.

Guidelines for Room 252:
Understand Room 252 is not designed for meetings or events. Time spent in the room is meant to be an experience.

Do not interrupt people when they're in the room. If others are praying, please don't disturb them. You're welcome to pray as a group, but if the group gets too large, consider splitting into smaller groups.

Please do not bring food into the room. Only bottled water is allowed.
