The Use of Scripture

Scripture — Meeting with God in His written Word (Hebrews 4:12)

As Christians, we have a vast treasure in the written word of God. As Jesus was truth-in-carnate, so the Bible is truth-in-print. God’s Word gives light in the midst of fears and makes us wise beyond our years. Unlike any other book, the Bible is “living and active” (Hebrews 4:12). We do not want merely to know the principles it contains: we want to connect with the Person it proclaims. The use of Scripture is transformational, not informational—as we come to know it more, we aren’t satisfied until we come to know Him well.

"The heart of Christianity is about transformation--about a God who isn’t just concerned with our "spiritual lives," but who wants to impact every aspect of living."
