Short Term Teams Following are 2009 current areas of international short term team involvement:
Africa:
In Africa...In 2009 requests from our partners in Africa are for two medical teams and a teachers team to Zambia.
If you are interested in one of the medical teams , the dates will be:
May 9 to May 23, 2009 and September 26 to October 10, 2009.
If interested, please attend our medical team information meeting on Sunday, December 7th after service at 12:45 in room 100 below the chapel. Please check the church monitors for any room changes. These teams will be doing home based care and clinics. The leaders are looking for adult and pediatric practitioners, optometrists, ophthalmologists, dentists, hygienists, occupational and physical therapists.
The teacher team dates have not yet been finalilzed but we anticipate may be for 2 weeks in early August. More information to come!
Latin America
In Latin America...Most of our teams are ministry-specific requiring specialized skills or ministry experience. Examples include teams from the Trades ministry, or Production ministry. We also have a few general teams per year that are open in general to WCCC attenders. Neighborhood areas are also starting to engage in discovering ways to serve our church partners. Contact your area pastor if you have an interest to serve alongside your neighborhood.
Mexico with Harvest Ministry - May 23 to May 31, 2009
Consider joining this team as they serve Foundation for His Ministry in Baja, Mexico. Multiple areas of service will be involved including orphan care, warehouse assistance, kitchen assistance and general tasks. For further information contact Lore at lrzany@willowcreek.org.
Dominican Republic -Trades Team - January 31 to February 7, 2009

These teams are looking for skilled volunteers for construction at ICC Church, a Global Connections ministry partner. These construction teams will serve ICC focusing on plumbing, electrical, metal fabrication/welding, and carpentry at the church's new kitchen, classrooms, and ministry facilities.

Costa Rica - Blitz Team June 19 - 27, 2009
This team will be working alongside our partner Shalom Church in the construction and preparation of their new community ministry center. General skills, flexibility and a willingness to serve needed. If interested contact us at shorttermteams@willowcreek.org.

Since Willow Creek sent its first short-term team in 1989, hundreds and hundreds of people from our body have taken the courageous step of serving God globally through short-term teams. God has used these experiences to serve others, increase compassion in our church and to broaden our understanding of His Kingdom.
