Here’s just a few reasons most frequently given by employers as to why applicants, who are technically qualified for the position, are not hired:
- Poor Personal Appearance. Lack of confidence, nervous or ill at ease.
- Weak Handshake and/or failure to look the interviewer in the eye when
speaking.
- Lack of enthusiasm; passive or indifferent.
- Late for the interview. Application sloppy or incomplete.
- Over-emphasis on money or work hours; only interested in the best dollar offer.
- Answered only yes/no to questions; poor self-expression.
- Narrow job interests or lack of interest shown in the job discussed.
- No questions asked about the job or company; emphasis on next higher
position.
- No personal career goals or career plans; condemns past employers.
- Overbearing, too aggressive, conceited, know-it-all complex.
